Focusing on atypical documentation of events, The Parallel Collective set out to explore road trip culture.

The trip was less about the where and more about the going. To do this we focused on the trip itself. The destination was picked based on its name and not its tourist attractions. The weather wasn’t ideal for a typical road trip. All pit stops were randomly picked and often unusual for tourists.  The trip was about real events without editing or do-overs, experienced in the moment.

We documented every moment in multiple forms to create a scenario in which there was little to no purposeful censorship. Unlike the boundaries created through technology today, nothing is framed.

As a collective we have the ability to experience every moment from multiple perspectives. Experiences are not defined in a linear manner. Together we created a realistic representation of our experience as a whole and the entire installations purpose is to share that with the viewer.
