A series of six portraits created from a 0:040 second video clip from a recorded conversation between the artist and subject. Each portrait is a compilation of instants and emotions surrounded in the moment of its creation. The drawings give significance to the subject’s identity, relationship and narrative as they interact within the context of the process.
A series based on found photo booth images. I admire the restraint the photo booth creates and the subsequent spontaneity of the images. I like to exaggerate their odd nature and discourse. To pay tribute to this phenomenon, I render the images in a monotype fashion with a chiaroscuro effect. Additionally, the images are drawn without primary drafts, creating a natural --- and at times dark --- ambiguity.
